scraps

Post by saw » January 15th, 2016, 10:49 am

I dwell on the scraps....
pieces of paper on my desk,
the tables, anything flat that could hold
someone's insanity

what if too many scraps are redundant
what if too many should merely be
kindling, to light the evening wood stove
what if they merely fizzled out, wouldn't even

start a fire, but what if someone
could take these pieces of madness
weave them into a quilt of truth
that would cover up all the weeping holes

what if that magician were you
what if one morning you jumped out of bed
stumbled over to the cerebral chalkboard
with the gaze of a gunslinger at noon

and picked up a piece of purple chalk, took
half a day to write out the formula, 'cause
now you could finally see that anyway you slice it
it really doesn't matter

not at all....
put it together,
leave it apart,
it really doesn't matter
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Nice. Yeah, sometimes it's damn hard to leave those scraps behind, yet some of them would contribute more to the overall cosmic scene if they were given up, burned, etc. And yes, I'm tempted to try and put all those "loose end" scraps together too, but would the return exceed the energy put into it?...

watched a TED Talk at Morgan State yesterday ( actually many of them )...but this astrophysicist brilliantly connected all the dots.....connected all the stars ....made it so clear

we are star dust...nothing more

you may end up where you are heading
