The thundering hooves of a spirit horse
moon light and bones
wild streaming mane and tail of blood smoke
the hallow eyes of a dead child
galloping alone
beneath the the deep black
blue diamond sky of Syria
growing ever stronger
the billowing sick dust of war rising behind
looking for the gate to the world
the trembling ground awakens the child
hush young one
go back to sleep
it is only a bad dream
Note: nightmare ORIGIN Middle English (denoting a female evil spirit thought to lie upon and suffocate sleepers): from night + Old English mære ‘incubus.’
Nightmare
Re: Nightmare
a timely piece given the upheaval in that part of the world....powerful take on the refugee situation....somehow you've succeeded to use poetic rendering to describe a nightmare
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
