the door

Post by saw » February 23rd, 2016, 10:07 am

some days my heart would go numb
cramped by intruders of hopelessness
that forced their way in through
the cracks in the baseboards, I mean

I guess that's how they entered my ears
how else could they settle so easily
in the catacombs of this head that provided
park benches for visitors with negativity

they seem to like scenic views of things painted
you know, twisted religious art, demonic
creatures I never would have thought of
left to my own devices, no they were given

to me at a very young age in my catechisms
when I was the ripest for fear training, when
I was tender and naive, impressionable, open
to all the stories that might shape a healthy boy

I recognize these marauders quite easily
these days, we have our little confrontations
but my faith in myself is now too much for them to handle
the bouncer in my gut simply shows them the door

like the bum's- rush there is no ceremony
they are snatched up by the seat of their pants
and their white collars all stiff from sadistic starch
flung into the alley, with the other haughty vermin
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

oh i love the door- really- once my pal said ' he was tired of them all talking at once=so he set up a circle of chairs and said =share now...'
so sometimes i have to hang around in the hallway til one of them doors swing open= never know really which way it will go=

you have to go to the bar 'DANTES' i recently was with a girl that liked the whiskey- about a week later she swung that guitar around and knocked herself out= she got sober...'
all my friends act that way!
the place is decorated like the catholic version of hell- it is kind of funny-red lighting- A fire pit etc
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
