I have this coin given me
some time ago by a man at a cheese shop
it has a cross shaped section cut out from it
it has a Bible verse imprinted on it
perhaps it is money
you can only spend
at a crucifixion

good for one beer
to soothe your throat
as the dust clears from dragging
large wooden crosses though
the dirt for tonight's entertainment

the arena is sold out
the crowd waits in anticipation
holding their lit lighters up,
swaying back and forth
