Ne'er-do-well

Post by Brian mclaughlin » May 17th, 2016, 2:28 pm

Ne'er-do-well, why do you sit?
Do your feet not hold your weight,
are your hands incapable of work?
Have you given up entirely,
resigned yourself to a life in the gutter?
There is a warm belly in a days toil
and self worth when it is of your own making.
When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak. ~ Audre Lorde

The poem made me think,I could not live with out projects. I suppose growing up poor and not knowing it was good for me , if I wanted somthing , I made it, found old bikes and took them apart and made a bike of my own out of the parts I am with you on this ,I have often wonderd about that.I figured that the poor devil was just to depressed to do anything, and or, to lazy.
