once

Post by saw » May 27th, 2016, 11:05 am

once upon a time I was a fish
too clever to take the man's bait
too swift to be the midnight snack
of Big Bubba or his finned henchmen

my secret was to never sleep....
in movement we are free
from all the dangers that befall
the lazy mackerel or the cocky trout

I was the bullet-train of the deep
the leer-jet of the stocked lake
I rocketed through peril in the tall grasses
with skill and grace

I lived to be four hundred years old
then one day walked out of the pond
on my brand new brackish toes
with supreme confidence, as I recall

and I never looked back
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Laughed
ah I thought and now what about all those other all so clever fellows
we have become our worst own danger ,but we can not escape our selfs
the poem made me think
now what
enjoyed !, smart

interesting...
I once had to take care of an abandoned fish...
when the kids lost interest in it...
tried to train it to swim through hoops
that I placed in the tank...
but I lost interest in it
many is a word
