doze off in current events

only to NOT be told I'm now bionic

the same old dude with less stuff

and what about those other parts
they left behind, that brain
that wants to be creative, well

when she isn't doing that, she is
re-programming that old To-Do list
living comfortably in the moments

now...get with the program Body
put on those socks and shoes, take
some baby steps, then

throw that wooden cane into Lake Montebello
maybe the ducks can use it to play hockey
or maybe it will just float way, like the nagging pain

and I will swim like another Baltimore boy, Michael Phelps
shore to shore
and back again
