lick and swallow

I feel significant
'til you pan back the camera
show me as the little black dot I am
floating in the middle of an endless azure sea

this is not to say I'm unimportant
I'm a microchip planted beneath the skin
of a celestial ox, a thriving cell in the retina
of the northern lights, the southern cross

I'm a parasite on the neck of a cosmic dog
a stowaway hitchhiker twirling his cerebral baton
in the march of time, I am everything !
I am nothing !....I am complex !... I am simple !

No one has my fingerprints....I am a random
snowflake from the beginning of the universe
landing on the tongue of a future explorer
here for a second, then gone.....dissolved,

with a lick and a swallow

each riff a strummed ripple
of more than just sounds

beached and simply washed
up on echo beach.
