I do not see poetry that way
that there would ever be another
who could tell me what needs to be
changed, as if they could tell me
which colors to use in a sunset painting
my poems are always experimental
I do not believe in masterpieces
what I write is a work in progress
nothing more and nothing less
and it is only me that can know
if and when I would switch out a word
it is a very personal process
an ongoing poetic transmission
it is an improvisation, the off notes
also hold meaning, even if I do decide
later on to change something
in any case it is a secret subtle art
and the idea that I would want anybody
to tell me what is wrong or too much of
this or too little of that, is just relative
to the whole way that I think about my poetry
because I am not a pedestrian poet
in the sense that I am not academic in that sense
or is it a hobby, so I just might not respond
to your critique in the way you think
in other words I am not playing by those rules
by arbitrary rules, that is not the kind of poet I am
I cannot critique

Re: I cannot critique
We'll never have
a war on poetry here,
nowhere near, no lame critic's aim
will try to shoot you down,
so write whatever style you've found
to be your own because I know you must,
just as I will write mine,
line after line.
Put your poet's shoes on
and run with it.
That's not pedestrian when
you're one with it.

Re: I cannot critique
Well I am pedestrian in the sense of a street poet, but in the other sense
that my poems are a kind of vehicle of communication, I don't relate
to poets that have pedestrian minds, you know what I mean?
