log jam ( an unapologetic rant )

Post by saw » December 4th, 2016, 12:29 pm

the elections are over
a television war of talking heads,
it's true, they have no bodies
their pelvis is digital, Elvis
turns in his grave, the country
is split like a seasoned log
down the middle...disparate chunks
of oak sensibilities, solid in aim
lie on the ground cleaved
from the loins of love and hate
from a single ax, divided
by the hand of destiny, conservative
liberal.....is that really
the only choices,.. as we thirst
for a satisfying voice, but in the end
both voices are garbled like
Charlie Brown, raspy like
Darth Vader, and Congress
has turned to concrete, a log jam
of bickering armies that only
give lip service to "we duh people"
it's all so brilliant, they've duped
the 99% to fight with each other
as the 1% picks their pockets bare
then lights a cigar with a C-note
that further lights the gasoline
to the perpetual fire.... let them
fight in hell over the crumbs
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
