I was never here to argue a position

because in the end its only words

to the poet is said to be crazy
because he or she allows words
to speak for themselves

so if the poets sounds like they
are using words that were found
in some book, that is because
the best words are found there

sometimes talking to a tree is best
or standing on a street corner
talking to the world as it rolls by

or typing on a old typewriter
in the fifties, and a poem is born
out of the chaos of the modern

Bukowski did this, he had some
inside knowledge about the poetic state
of mind

We're not really that old, but we're old enough to realize that the old books had some good shit here and there, flinging stones and finding religion.

Bukowski was a brawler and a fucker, and so were a lot of the poets in language space-time...

who was a bad ass on the waves, but he liked Kerouac.
