my Colombian
has grown cold
but my enzymes and co-enzymes
are getting along just fine
warm in their little nests
and, I Feel Good
thinking of James Brown
splitting the stage, his horn men
bright and funky
and that's all there is
connecting the dots
the religious folks call blessings
those tiny synapses
that make a man smile inside
that simple goodness
that a single positive thought
can be your default position
and you will always resist
the ogre's dark eyes
and keep the songs in your heart
rise up people, hear the music
The Traveling Wilburys
will never die
Orbison. Harrison, Petty
cannot be taken from me
feeling it
feeling it
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
Re: feeling it
right on... as long as there's music, there's reason to smile... just downloaded a concert from 1973... Joe Beck, Steve Gadd, Joe Farrell, Herb Bushler in Germany... is it jazz? rock? funk? none of the above, all of the above... who cares which record bin it needs to be marketed in... music, organic, fresh from the garden - not canned, no preservatives - just four guys sharing their hearts, baring their souls. Rock on, gents.

Re: feeling it
Joe Beck has long been one of my favorite guitar players. Highly underrated, he had a bit of commercial success early on that the jazz snobs felt he didn't deserve. His playing matured beautifully over the years, but the critics never forgave him those youthful affectations. Around 1969 he collaborated with a popular flamenco guitarist of the time on a curious fusion of jazz-blues-rock and classical Spanish guitar called "Rock Encounter" - also available on YouTube. It hasn't aged especially well, but there are a few moments when the rock and flamenco elements really dance.
