carpenter gig
tools waiting to be loaded
into the Econoline
for the umpteenth time
lumber already there
after trip to Home De Pot
security issues, new door
this is a freebie for someone dear
so I sip on my coffee
for the millionth time
check the poetry site
check the news, have some
granola, shift the mind
into work mode, measuring
cutting, screwing, sanding
what's a little more sawdust
in the head for this old scarecrow
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Writers night out
Area 31 Frederick, Md.
Going on an hour now
Has the jam been said
Is the jam dead
It can't be dead
It's right here perpetually
It's raining outside all the sudden
Nice little group here writing
Ten in all at various tasks👍
2 hours to write, then 1 hour for discussion
Jammin be thy game
Playing field the unknown
The word full blown
It's here
It's perpetual
Bop till you drop
Good old fashioned sticky
Lickity splickity
Taste it you'll love it
Once you give in
To to jam!

November is national novel writing month.......😎

Things have slowed
down here a bit/a lot
Jamsturbation I feel
Heading out for brunch
in a while, always interesting
Thinking of India this morn
Hornets on my mind via migo's poem
All the cars that got drug
up into the trees
That lonely bell that tolls
15 minutes before the hour
behind where I live on Church St.
Sure am hungry
Jammin' all alone
Just wanna bang on the drum all day! 😎
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

I got a million things to do.
People to write back to.
People to call. Paintings to paint.
Rooms to rent. Music to play.
Dances to practice.
Instead, I play Scrabble.
I do it with other irresponsible people.
Just another word jam.

Word Jams.
Strawberry jam.
Damn, man.
Whatchya gonna do?

I'd rather jam
but got to figure out
what's wrong with the vacuum cleaner
i got dog & cat
the vacuum got to work
got to work
got to work
o yeah it got to work
I could be haikuing my way
to the far fucking sea
but here I am
with a broke-dick vacuum cleaner
everything sucks except
my vacuum cleaner
four days rain it's the damn Titanic 'round here
I remember the days
of good weed
saving the seed the only thought
of the future
I hear the cat playing
out in the other room
ain't got a care in the world
this crap bout cats being clean
a crock of shit from where I stand
trouble it ain't nothin' but trouble
and I brought it home
with my own two hands
Fuck! did I just rhyme ? Fuck !
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

brunch with 2 of the kids
this morning pre-rain
saturday the third one
and the grandson...i enjoy
the physical connections
immensely, never take it all
for granted...jam for today
I always say, and think and do
jam for today for tomorrow
isn't promised...jam for today
because this moment is all there is
jam like a fool with no inhibition
jam like a cool tool in the box
inside the cage...tap them keys
as it comes to you, let the jam
run down your elbow, drip
through cyberspace
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

There's a blanket of leaves on the deck
and the yard. 68 degrees in November.
Today would have been my mother's birthday.
She left us in 2014. I can hear her saying,
"Go outside and rake those leaves while it's warm!
I can't do it!" Hi Mom. Thanks for the advice. Good idea.

the dog noses under the leaves
to smell the earth beneath
and as I wait at the other end of the leash
gazing out into the woods
I see it....
at first not recognizing it
chaff, I think
drifting down from the rusty, brittle canopy...
or maybe ash
from someone's wood stove...
but it's neither
it's snow
light
sparse
feathery soft
snow.....
when we reach the lake
whose restless waters still writhe
and murmur
the distant mountain beyond
is but a veiled outline
peering through the thinnest gauze
of snow
the season's first reminder that
though the ground may yet be bare
the white sleep of winter
is coming

It rained for 10 days or was it a million?
Sun finally came out today but the leaves
are soaked, a 3" thick blanket over my deck
and lawn. Can't blow 'em. Can't rake 'em.
Heavy subject.

If it snows on top of them, I'll probably fall
and break my neck trying to get to the
wood pile to get wood to make a fire.

My home is too much work these days.
Aging is having its way with me.
They should be a way to age
while we're young and strong
when we could handle it better.

:D
