Lew Welch went into the hills

Post by mnaz » November 15th, 2017, 5:51 am

Lew Welch went into the hills
with a gun shaped like some kinda
sword like they recycle through all
those Ho-wood epics, and he never
returned, never found a ring of bone
except in a poem, and I don't care if
he was north or south of Antarctica,
his body was never found and we had
to listen to Huey Lewis for awhile.
God that was thin, thin times.

Huey Lewis - that’s fucking hysterical!
Thin times
Yeah epic Hollywood tales
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Hard for me to believe that he was stepfather to Huey ... Yeah, the News. The News for fuxxake.. Is that what became of the Beat poets? This is a weird "poem." I kinda like it.

Lew - went off knockin on heaven's door and the whole house fell on him - he went looking in the cupboard but there was nothing left in the vagina for him - thing that sticks in my mind is they never found the body -ok- but the gun ? Nothing a bear or mountain lion would have been interested in -
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Lew Welch just turned up one day,
live as you and me. "Damn, Lew" I said,
"you didn't shoot yourself after all."
"Yes I did" he said,
and even then I felt the tingling down my back.
"Yes you did, too" I said—"I can feel it now."
"Yeah" he said,
"There's a basic fear between your world and
mine. I don't know why.
What I came to say was,
teach the children about the cycles.
The life cycles. All other cycles.
That's what it's all about, and it's all forgot."

Saw Gary Snyder 4 times, at a bookstore where he told the audience "I do not shout my poetry!"
