thanksgiving is good
but I wish it were more
than once a year,

so do the native americans
If you do not change your direction

thanksgiving
ain't about giving thanks any more
but a celebration of gluttony
just like christmas
ain't about the man from galilee
but competitive gifting
to see who can spend the most
for the least

Jammin writers night
All the news that's fit
Reading bout the Beat
Can't get enough
Heat goes on....fan that is
2 more writers in the house
5 of us here at 6:19 pm.
The sound of silence
Tappin quiet these days
Didn't used to be that way
In the daze of noisy keyboards
Jammin never slamming
Thanksgiving a week away
Friends giving next Saturday
Should be interesting in its 2nd year now
In search of more writing sites...I guess
Now that I have three hours to write
Any recommendations?
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

Jojo's Sunday brunch
Football day in America
The land of e pluribus unum
As the wizard says
This isn't Kansas iits Frederick, Md
Lonely and flat is Kansas then u run into
the magnificent Rockies
Into the big hills
Peak upon peak
Always in Abigail hurry to get to the west coast
4 times, the last time in '74
This old country has changed, for sure
15 minutes to showtime.......🤓

fuck those mosquitoes
fuck them deer flies too
and weeds B gone
lawnmower grabbing rust
in the corrugated metal shed
just like me,
a little more rust each day
and I need more than the tin man
unless they got some new kinda oil
I ain't heard about
my joints are creaking like
the back door
but I ain't seized up yet
went out to Kilgore Falls Sunday
my joints aren't any better
but my head is loving me

snow on the ground yesterday
upta 50 today
(climate change, anyone?)
summer blanket washed
and drying on the line
get it smelling like the woods
before I pack it away
gotta pay my mom's rent
assisted living ain't cheap
but worth it for her
and the insurance is finally kicking in
then I gotta restock the larder
but I think I'll wait for tomorrow
by then only the last-minute panic shoppers
and grumpy old bachelors like me
should be clogging the aisles
Kilgore Falls look(s) nice
but a wee too far for me to hike
so maybe Birch Hill
or Gap Mountain
or Little Monadnock
.

Taco Tuesday at jojo's
Dark in here
Sometimes I worry
But they keep these
bars dark so you can't
see the person your talking
with too well
Sun's settin way too early at 4:40 pm.
Where's that waterfall saw?
Snow on the ground up north
You all got them long johns on brrrrrrrrr.....
Jammin' I wanna jamma with you
It's down to this one jam I guess for now
But it's kinda more like a infomercial for S8🤓
The what it be
Take a look at you and ma
What's it all about
The scream and shout
Shake it up baby now
You know what I mean
We're living the dream
Alive and kicking
I better be lickity splitting 😎
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

Reasoning behind keeping the bar dark:
"Ooooh she looks good! I'm going to buy her another drink."
"Ooooh he looks good! I'm going to drink the drink he buys me."
"Oh wow! She's looking even better after 2 drinks!"
"OMG, he looks great after 2 drinks, I think I'll have 3!"

Advice to bar owners and managers:
Keep the lights low. Help the economy plus
create relationships that last at least overnight!"

:D

Kilgore Falls was once
a meeting place
the Susquehannock indians
later ended up as "private" property
can you imagine claiming
this waterfall is mine !
in Norway you can own the land
but you cannot prevent others
from using it....every citizen
can walk across your land if they choose to,
fortunately the state of Mary Land in 1993
and some local activists bought the land
and it was made part of Rocks State Park
which has three distinct locations
The Falls is on the Falling Branch property
and many locals never use the official Kilgore Falls
will only say, The Falls at Falling Branch
to each his own, as long as we can share the beauty
and magnificence...happy thanksgiving comrades !
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Passing judgement
Giving blessings
Lest you be judged
Like at my age I give a fuck😎
Fly on the wall writer
Used to do more of this at coffee houses
back in the '90's, before the cyber age
Jerk chicken omlete at jojo's
Red Zone on the tube or rather the flat screen
Oh! Watch the red peppers in the jerk chicken
Red Zones the way to go if you don't give a damn who wins or loses
Too much info from the one lady about selling house and credit cards
Surprising how much beans are spilled at the bar
Time to get in Zone🤓
