Judge Roy

Post by saw » December 4th, 2017, 7:06 pm

I'm so god damned redundant
I know I wrote about this before,
decade after decade the same monsters
but here I am sayin' it all again

ten years after ( great band with Mr. Alvin Lee)
but let me not digress, to a frilly place
no better than I did the first five times around
we poets try to cast shadows

started in the fairy tales, and boy am I red
no not embarrassed, rather bathed in red light
remembering a reincarnated girl
skipping through the woods with a basket

to visit her grandmother, damn
talk about metaphors in the news
i mean we have all seen it so many times before
pictures in kiddie lit

of a granny with a bonnet
and big sharp teeth and a big nose
big eyes
and an appetite for young girls

I swear it never hit me so hard
those folks in Alabama say they'd
vote for a pedophile over a democrat
what the fuck, where's the woodsman with his axe ?
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

sorry mark, i was all over the place
it's a stream of consciousness poem ala jam
the ten years after was reference to saying the same things over and over
i wrote about the lecherous ways of man a decade ago
and as i was I was rocketing along in my brain this time around
I realized it was probably the intention of little red riding hood....
when you're a kid you just see it as a scary wolf
but as an adult now it seems to point to guys like Judge Roy Moore
when you consider hiding beneath clothing to aid the element of surprise,
and exploit the naivety of a child, it hits home
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I don’t know what more can be said about politics sex and power- but it seems that the ones out there trying to save souls like kinky sex as well-
I think that there must be some connection between preaching whatever and fucking whatever- wtf ever- who the fuck cares anymore- people work too hard to fuck anymore anyway.
But I kind of think that when the government is fifty shades of ugly- whatever -
I try not to think about any of these guys in office- my inner prostitute wants to get him in a small room and fuck his shit up-
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

I agree jana that it's surreal...I often think of what's going on as some dystopian novel...some fiction created in the head of an author...as in, I've got this great idea, I'll create this boorish moron without morals that by some quirky discontent in the nation actually gets elected to the presidency...and that could be an interesting read by itself, but there are cast of equally amoral characters surrounding him, that don't believe every citizen should have access to quality health care.....what a tale it would be

and then i remember it's real

of course, as you say, you can't live there....you must strive to eke out the most enriching life you can muster where love and compassion and empathy are the contrasting values
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

From an article today...
At a campaign event earlier this year, an audience member asked Moore for his opinion on when the last time America was "great." He responded: "I think it was great at the time when families were united—even though we had slavery—they cared for one another . . . Our families were strong, our country had a direction." The individual who asked the question was among the only African-Americans in attendance at the rally . . . Agenda of low on taxes, tough on crime . . . apparently, a man who was reportedly banned from an Alabama mall for harassing teenage girls would be "tough on crime" . . .
Lovely.
