there's this inexplicable force
an internal shifting of tectonic plates
the ribs are racked out of square
only to return to default where the jaws
of night open into the mystical
teeth that were biting can only gnash
like cartoon dogs, there are forces inside
and out, energy unseen by the retina
tremors with secret motives that push and pull
and twist, and have a say in tomorrow
they can influence even the stoic
axe of the lumberjack as he studies
a fallen tree, forces of ancient existence,
energy that has always been there, fingers
from the calloused hands of time
massaging each new cell, prehistoric winds
that cannot die....the earth has all the cards
and you're a chump if you deny it, go All-In
with a crummy pair of deuces of denial, just
because life is a grand game of craps,
....doesn't mean that we should
turn our backs on science
kill the planet.....
with our ignorance and greed,
destroy the very thing that inherently loves us
annihilate the gift of life...
many laughed at Julia Butterfly Hill
scoffed at her dedication to a single tree
questioned the sanity of one woman taking a stand
in a vast forest....but what if each one of us... did that

Re: Deuces of Denial

Life? All i know about life is:
"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on." - Robert Frost quotes
i don't know who loves us more, the planet or the stars.
Re: Deuces of Denial
Yes. Because Earth is not some kind of bottomless credit card/slash/garbage can after all. Or maybe it is..

Re: Deuces of Denial
Someone told me a story once that the earth breaks into 4- then rebirths-
Naturally it was someone that said all kinds of stuff
I wasn’t sure I believed at 12
But every once in awhile
I think
Maybe he was right
I am the closest to the fault line as I can get

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
