the dog pulls like he's hauling diphtheria vaccine to Nome
too busy
to pee or poop
we don't get far in this cold
turn back before we reach the pavement
now he's limping
but my hands are too cold
to warm his paws
unleash him
bat out of hell
doesn't even stop to check out Bruce's trash
doesn't even stop to root under Kasotis' apple tree
doesn't even stop to see if Adam & Kelly are home
doesn't even stop to look down LamDuan's driveway
waiting for me on the steps...

no water at kitchen sink
the pipes finally succumbed to the jaws
of winter, her bite ferocious
don't own a hair dryer anymore
so i have a space heater in the basement
hoping that if i thaw it out
I'll be spared another bite on the ass
that the copper has split.....oh boy
are we having fun yet....my dad and brother
both ran out of oil....icebergs in the streets
of boston...all the weather events getting more severe
what led up to the ice age took thousands of years
but we're trying to match it in a mere hundred
had the wood stove roaring until 2am,
the house was toasty, the thermostat in the hall says 66
yet i still have no water in the kitchen
first time in forty years...does that tell you something ?
