but it was yesterday

Post by saw » April 15th, 2018, 9:30 am

baritone bamboo chimes rattle
outside my charcoal window panes
it's fucking dark man for 9am
a few church-going all-season tires
throw rain into the sky above the macadam
it's oddly serene, evergreen porch instrument
and rubber wheels, a rather odd duet
but it is music nonetheless, and I think
that would be a great band name,
Bamboo Rubber-Band ...and folks
would likely try to imagine what kind of tunes
they play, and I can't help but think
it was sunny and Hot when I fell asleep
after my hike in the woods along the Chesapeake,
on the coast, fisherman, sailboats, grills smoking..
children shrieking from the cold bay water,
but away from the shore on a beloved trail of mine
there were whitetails bouncing at the sound of my boots
and black snakes sunning themselves finally
able to shake off the chill of a spring dragon's breath
with no fire for patient serpents, just chilly exhalation....
wow, it seems like a lifetime ago...this little story...
but it was yesterday

Yesterday I was outside in a t-shirt & sleeveless fleece, and heard the 1st tentative cackling of wood frogs.

Today it's fucking cold, with sleet & freezing rain. Even the dog doesn't want to go out.

Elliot was right. This month sucks.

April... If you don't like the weather, hang around a few hours and it'll change. Except not up here in the NW. It's been almost nothing but DARK, DAMP COLD. Not extremely cold, just numbingly dull. It's beautiful and "cleansing;" I understand that intellectually. But. My. Gawd.

Today it currently in the mid 70's w/ clear skies. This after one hell of a wind storm mixed with sands the past 3 days w/ lower temps.

Gaia is on a mission, people be damned. And why not? Apparently "we" don't give a damn about Gaia.

What comes around... we know the rest but tend to ignore it, and pay for it.

Curious how "we" bitch about weather when it doesn't suit us and rave about it when it's favorable. That's the way it is...

Yes it is. It's probably been a LOT worse over the whole history of rock (Jesus, those Ice Ages...) It goes so much farther back beyond our feeble "weather records" (true)...
