Cosmos Doesn't Give a Fuck About Us.
Cosmos Doesn't Give a Fuck About Us.
Military might might've meant something
at some point, but nowadays I dunno..
We wake up, we all got the same rock,
and it's shrinking, and we react.

The rockets red glare,
the bombs bursting in air,
gave proof through the night...

to accumulate more money
men destroy the things that give them life
literally and figuratively
they choke gaia's neck with their bare hands
imagine the thinking there
it's matricide, but for a short time
they will able to buy a bunch a shit
that won't help them ever find a minute of true peace

If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Thanks all. Excuse my sour dour...
This might be one of the few things on which I disagree with the late great George Carlin-- even though he's right, technically. Cosmos is beautiful, yes, but brutally indifferent as well (witness volcanoes, tsunamis and asteroids)...
I think ol' George just took this observation in a spurious direction when he took all those nasty shots at "environmentalists." I mean sure, the rock will live on, and even shed us like dog hair if it comes down to it, but there's a lot to be said for at least trying to not shit your own nest.

Interesting, this was the core of H.P. Lovecraft's view of "cosmicisim" - that we are just immeasurably insignificant motes in an inconceivably vast universe that, even if it were aware of us, does not give one rat's ass about us. The jury is still out whether he was a genius or a hack - I'm going with 6 of one, a half dozen of the other - but he was definitely ahead of his time.

Hollywood strangely was a visitor in my childhood home-
Then again the films play in my mind
all shadows and light
Movement of feet and hips
In a contagious thrill and dancing
The juice of beauty
Presents a whole new perspective
Designed to alter our state of conscience
Opening and closing doors in the soul
The light flickers
They hung a sheet and watched old super 8
Movies
Laughter could be heard
The war did not seem real
Very distant from participating in total insanity
The war was internal now
Intuition seemed to paint a beach scene
Waves filled with dreams

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
