My apologies

Post by Doreen Peri » August 31st, 2018, 3:49 pm

I hung myself by wrapping the sheet
over the balcony railing, tying it around my neck and jumping off
until I heard my neck crack,

though I recognized the fact that
you had laundered it perfectly and spread it
cool and taught on the bed for your comfort
when you planned on a good night's sleep tonight.

I do apologize, but I was tired of it all.

 :D

creative and provocative.....an interesting theme ....doing something that might shock someone, then simply apologizing....

an interesting vehicle

I borrowed your mink coat
to take camping with me
because it was so nice and toasty
against the chilly temps in the mountains
but a bear thought it was dinner
and tore it to shreds, luckily
i slipped out in time and I'm just fine
your coat on the other hand is not fine
perhaps you can use it to mop up those grease spots
in the garage, sorry for not asking permission
but I was already late to make my connections
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Hah! I like that, Steve! Good one!

Someone on another site posted this as a challenge... to write variations of a theme based on one of William Carlos William's poems. I was trying to be funny but not sure I succeeded.
