How Often Do You Drink?
How Much do you swig at the bottle?
sometimes I just like to breathe.

People who are writers at heart
Who answer polls without saying
Diddlely Squat
Oughtta be
SHOT!
Mainly because it robs those of us with no lives of the opportunity of reading your op in onions.
Offering up a laugh to those of us who crave laughter.
Plus you're missing an opportunity to trot out your stuff.
And cause I'm nosey and want to nose who said what!
Like who "folded their arms and said "who the fuck cares"? I rather like this person.
"Socially baby", to please a crowd!...... I love you!!!!
And whoever
came up with the poll answers is so cleverly cute and funny. Izy you're priceless, wanton little booze hound that you possibly are.
Anyway I will vote social drinker who drinks one glass and finds it sufficiently potent to induce me into a comfortably "loosey goosey" feel. One glass of vino or one red-eye or one small shot of Carolans and I am totally relaxed, feeling easy breezy fine and there is no need for more. Any more and I lose my savoire faire and this is never a good thing. I must be cool, calm and reflective at all times. I must never collapse into a drunken blob on the floor slathering and slabbering that I want my mommy!!!!! Oh there was a time, I am sure, if memory serves correctly when I was quite the "wasted one" but "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now"
I believe liquor serves a mellowing purpose, one should imbibe it purely as a health drink for it's positive effects on the coronary arteries, the old heart muscle, to feed the endolphins
. Too much....bad. Too little....bad. A glass or two among friends.....priceless!!!!
Anyways, it's 9 in the a.m. and I'm wasted....what does that tell ya?
Nah, I'm kiddin'.
And Izy, I never "swig", I sip...ever so delicately while dabbing at the corners of my mouth in an oh-so-lady-like fashion.....while scratching my ass!!!!!!

ps: I voted no. 1.

I voted "socially baby. I like to please a crowd. heh." But I suppose there are times when I just want to enjoy a shot of Stoli on my own, you know? Mellowing out in manner of Mousey1 up there. In a crowd though, out with friends, I probably drink way more than my fair share:

yeah, Lrod drinks beer and tomato juice all day long but y'know what? We've been together for 3 years and not once have I seen him drunk. I have no clue why it doesn't effect him more. He'd probably have answered the poll if the question was 'how often do you not drink'? lol
I shouldn't be drinking at all .... ever .....
I wish I could find something that works as well at calming my nerves. Anybody got any suggestions?
Sorry for such a serious response. But I'd really like to know if there's a substitute out there which works well for helping the mind and body relax.
Don't suggest cannibus.... that acts like speed on me.

I drink socially.
Being the only sober person at a party can be fun, but it gets really boring after an hour or two, and the noise can get brainracking.
When you're drunk and your mind gets all slow and cottonny, you can adapt to the slow and cottonny universe around you and exchange great thoughts (or at least have the impression you're exchanging something).
It's funny because my most "out of the ordinary" experiences (unusual states of mind/perception, thinking or acting silly, etc) happen when I'm perfectly sober. I did a few silly things while drunk this year, but it was always on purpose (I swear lol).
Also, I don't make efforts not to drink on a regular basis, but I'd hate to create a dependence.

surfer.... are you keen on Robert Downey Jr. quotes as I.... or is it just a coincidence:
"I'm allergic to drugs and alcohol. Everytime I use them, I break out in handcuffs." RD

p.s traveller, I think it is miserable being the only sober person when several others are making idiots of themselves through drink. Therefore I either join in or get the fuck outta there.

K..
perhaps that's where I heard that saying
but I also must say it's been true. Holly shit,
there were a few years in the 70's where I
blacked out the whole month of December.
Sobered up and went to the library to catch
up on back issues of the local paper. Nowadays
two quick diet colas gets me ripped. I've had my
share though.
