soundtracks

Post by saw » February 3rd, 2019, 2:39 pm

my life has been good
even without the days of wine and roses
even though I never had
a theme song written by Henry Mancini
or Johnny Mercer lyrics, but pretty ok
when one tries to qualify such things
I relate to Nowhere Man sitting there
is his Nowhereland making all those silly plans
for nobody, knowing not where he's going.....
I feel too like an autumn leaf
fallen and drifting in the turbulent air
of Indian summer, blowing in the wind
like Dylan said and, Bob did pose some damn good questions
wondering about how many roads one would need to walk down
to call himself a man....but I ...prefer the forest trails
walking straight into utter joy, the solitude
of fresh pine, so I never think at all about the distance
or the manliness
more into the quality than the quantity
stick in hand, boots on the ground
sunshine filtered through a dense oak and maple canopy
branches touching every single background sky
hues of the great spirit's rainbow palette.....
love in my heart,
....................and old songs in my head
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I relate to every part of this except- the manliness
I dunno
When I was hanging with natives .. I always had a knife
I lost several outside courthouses and airports
So far my knitting needles need to travel with luggage
I loved hiking
In Kauai- 12 mikes in to kalalau-
Since the pristine has gone to Hollywood
People boat in and out
And surfer Chris is still trying to be a sage and a prophet
Back there
Last time I was there a woman was so rude I almost forgot where I was
That New Yorker can show up anytime
The super bowl is on
I had a coke and some chips
Wrestling with my own plays and fouls

I used to be young
Was not afraid of falling
Now I’m just afraid
I won’t get back up
So I’m sticking with gentle trails and dog walks
These days I’m lost but directed
I loved this poem—- just in case you were wondering? Sharing that I have met women that were more manly than men I know
And vice versa
Butt
I don’t care what you are anyone is- just be nice
I want to do art until I die
Really
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
