gates open
and close like synapses firing bottle rockets
glimpses of carnival lights, fresh acid in the blender
prosaic protraction......
arcane angles, clandestine cinema
enigmatic electric eels, music from tomorrowland
another door, another room
humming holograms
esoteric elements, obscure overhangs
cryptic chiffon
Too Much
My Dreams
I see things..........
jigsaw jazz, faces that morph
mysteries to unravel like Clouseau
a bumbling detective trying to read clues
the alliteration, the altercations
my real life ain't bad at all
but by dreamworld is spectacular
if only I could write when I was unconscious
transcribe my transcendental journeys
if only I could craft this machine with jumper cables
from brain to hand to keyboard
cryptic chiffon

Re: cryptic chiffon
I used to keep a dream journal, at the suggestion of a fellow writer... capturing the Dali-esque surrealism of a dream can be as challenging as remembering the damn thing in the 1st place, because the parts of our brains responsible for memory formation aren't functioning when we sleep. So after awakening out of a dream, I'd lie still for several moments, recalling the scene I'd awakened from... then the one before that... and the one before that... in an attempt to upload them to short-term memory. Then, while making my morning deposit to the porcelain, I'd jot down notes to use later in the day to flesh out the narratives. Even now, the journal occasionally brings the lost imagery vividly back to mind.
I'd like to create a slideshow or video of some I remember... a red covered-footbridge over a deep gorge, forest all around... a stark white church on an open hilltop against a stark blue sky... scuba diving in a pool full of shopping carts... a deep bottomless pit in my cellar, in which something Awful lurks... being able to fly, to leap atop buildings...
And of course those universal favorites of being naked in a public place, or back at school, suddenly realizing I was enrolled for a course I'd forgotten about until then......

other than the freshness of the journey brings me a
smiles... note: plural smile... yep, Steve, IMO this is a homerun!
I enjoy writings that not only tell me something I've never heard,
but I also like form... something most have no reason to like.
And then there is the rhythm of the write, doubles as a read,
a read like going for a ride in a part of town or country I've not been.
Again, thanks for posting this. Mr Weaver!
