Remote Salvation

Post by e_dog » May 18th, 2005, 9:26 pm

we've got a knife
that cuts
through shoe leather
tomato
tin can
cucumber
with the easest of ease.

beware false prophets
and opportunistic priests.
the true word
is found
in the good book. take it
from me. the gospel
will save you.

before i took miracleskin
my face was full
of blemishes
but now
my face is smoother
than a baby's ass.

the trusted news source
for the news that
americans need
and americans
want.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.

I haven't the remotest idea what you're talking about!

Oh, ya, maybe I do.

Out of the mouths of babes and Dan Rather.

But listen if it weren't for commercials how would I know what to buy!

If it weren't for CNN how would I know what to think.

If it weren't for my remote who would hold my hand.

And I do love my MTV!!!!!!!!

edog...how much of that miracleskin did you buy? Got enough for me? Sharesies! My face cries out to be smoother than a baby's ass....as does the rest of my body! Sharesies!

I enjoyed this read and as you can see it provided me with an op to have a little fun....always a good thing.
Thanks. :)
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

Hi Edog,

I really liked the format of this poem, brief snippets and in a commercial like tone to present the idea of "salvation" via what's fed to the public via the media. It worked well and helped solidify the idea of the poem. Thanks, really enjoyed this one.
