Suppose we got to the moon first.
In a tricked out Age of Information
someone will say it was just faked.
Get used to it in our Age of no truth
except for a glut of information.
Suppose We Got to the Moon First; It Didn't Happen
Re: Suppose We Got to the Moon First; It Didn't Happen
hell, there's still idiots that think the earth if FLAT!
As long as we keep breeding (2020 = 7.8 Billion of us) how many do you think has any education at all? My guess - 3.25%, and that's a guess.
No matter, we're stuck here on Mother Earth with everyone of us. Believe it. No choice. We can hide out in the desert or the forest, somewhere where's there but a few hermits. That requires a totally self-made life, from water to crops, to help of many kinds... but that will lessen our own lives and not the 8B.

" except for a glut of information"
And disinformation and misinformation
what we see and hear is easily manipulated
to the point it's near impossible to decipher truth/reality
from lies/fantasy......reason is a dying skill
it may come down to trusting our gut
and the knowledge we acquired along the way
it may be an advantage being old fucks like us
because can you imagine what it's like growing up in this current world ?

If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading

It's difficult to imagine what the future will bring, 10-50 years ahead, much lessIt isn't too 100 years, providing humanity is still around.

Re: Suppose We Got to the Moon First; It Didn't Happen
I was reading my old desert chronicles and came across the story of "Raylene," whom I met when I lived in a rundown trailer in a small truckstop town (she was the town librarian). Raylene was always too serious about everything; a bit of an alarmist ... and she thought the moon landings were fake. This was 15 years ago, and I didn't have much experience with conspiracy theories. (I do now! It's baffling, what some of these folks believe.) Raylene also said that Mojave "green" rattlesnakes were very aggressive, and would actually chase you (they're not, and they won't-- though like all snakes they're defensive if provoked.) I took everything she said with the ol' "grain of salt." Same with the conspiracy-minded folks I've met since then. Just nod your head and smile, I suppose...
Pretty much. (As long you're not "trusting your gut" similar to how our Fearless Leader in DC pulls stuff out of his ass and calls it wisdom, that is.)"it may come down to trusting our gut..."
Re: Suppose We Got to the Moon First; It Didn't Happen
conspiracies seem more prevalent
with the advent of the internet
once upon a time you had to leaflet your nutty ideas
that would eventually burn out because your feet were tired
and you couldn't afford more paper and ink
but now they theories run amok
my oldest son has a running dialogue with the flat-earthers
that truly boggles the mind....he doesn't make fun of them
simply tries to get them to understand the science and such.....phew
and they are just the edge of the cliff where everything falls off....

We are witnesses of the days when the Internet began.
A time we thought to be a wonderful, powerful tool, one
that would positively aid in changing our world for the better.
we, today, have to seriously question that dream of not so long ago...

How could the destruction of that dream happen in such a short stretch of years? (Talk about a cliff!..)
