how will I Get there ?
when will the astral limo arrive ?
what will I see when I open the front door ?
will someone explain the earthly limits ?
I mean I'm not afraid to leave it all behind
and though I have no death wish, the realist
in me has obviously contemplated relocation,
I've seen plenty of this world one way or another
and the travel brochures bore me
like a preacher going through the motions.....
I'm not in any hurry mind you but think
the cosmic undertaker should undertake my preferences
so sign me up....Don't put me in a chest !!
I want the hottest choice available for this boy....Incineration
a useless body would only hold me back, slow me down
so when the time is right take me to the milky way
I have yet to visit all the constellations
just sayin....when Phase Two comes near
just assist my naked soul as it slides to the edge of time,
It's there I will stick out my thumb, and catch a ride across the galaxy

Re: hitchhikers alternative guide
ashes to ashes
stardust to stardust
time enough
a short-timer looks at 90
I am trying to tidy up before I go.
I have no worries, I know the nun of amherst is right
If I cannot stop for death...
if i had my druthers i would like a burial at sea
mother mother ocean
i hope you are in it for the long haul
my selfish gene needs the poetry

Re: hitchhikers alternative guide
after I've fallen off the perch
strip me for parts
take anything that still works
and stick what's left into a cheap wooden box
made with #2 pine from Hamshaw's Lumber...
green burial
no preservatives
just stick me in the ground
and let me return whence I came -
to the Earth...
but
more realistically
state laws might frown on that
so for plan B
toss my husk onto the pyre
& put the clinkers into a jar
so I can become a paperweight
for my daughter's desk.....
