Corona Jam

experimenting all kind of roots
(maybe one of the few corona benefits)
but not at all adapted to be a sort of full time zapatista...
nonsense & rifts
the Beach Boys maddengly louder than the Doors...

pensive fingers caress my head
alien yet comforting I'd say, why
do I feel like a pawn in a game of life
why such drama from sources unknown to me
is this just that cyclical thing that moves with the moon
I'm sure that's all it is, yet the gravity feels real enough
today I will relax, let my face heal
try not to break open any stitches
maybe the body and mind need operations
from time to time to get one to slow down
all i know is the scars will give me character

to jam or not not to jam
this is the dilemma before us
will we keep the jam alive
bubbling on the stove
like a pot of potato soup
all the veggies sharing their special tastes
once upon a time there many jammers
out there in poetryland, but the years
have taken them from the kitchen
some have found other ways to be creative
some have left the earth to jam
in the heavens, that otherworldly jam
that is savory in the mind
tastes we will never forget.....oh wireman
dino, terri and many more, I miss you
but know you will always be with me just the same

each line in the face a story
that marks time and perhaps purpose
we move along the often perplexing highways
looking looking looking
absorbing the best of all of it
the sights and sounds, the folks we meet
along our journey
they help mold our unique story
sculpt our life into pieces of art
the good the bad and the ugly
but lets focus on the good today
and tomorrow
and the next few decades

I resist dragging steel across my face
the stubble can just crawl a bit more
who really cares if my face is hairy or not
who will make that judgement call today
or any day....and so my unenthusiastic idling
is in tact, it's a slow jam, a tai chi jam
it's a much ado about nothing jam .....it's
just an old man typing silly words
on a screen, on a table, in a room
and I think of cream and that white room
with black curtains at the station,
and I see my whole life just beginning
aah the beauty of letting the mind go
where it wants to

silly fingers doing what they please
of course my brain has a say in the matter
but it ain't sayin' much
it's just here with me
like it always is in some form
at times it surprises me
even impresses
but many times it's just blah
and I guess all of our brains
are a bit of this and that
given the day month year
and well, we take what we get
and make the best out of it
we try to have a nice day
and we wish other people the same

i smile or frown or grimace

eyes are the windows to the soul
it has been said, and never B 4
have I paid so much attention to eyes
the young woman checking out my groceries
I know her eyes intimately now
I don't know her nose, nor her mouth
and even her chin remains a mystery
but I know her eyes quite well
and I bet she knows mine, as we converse
politely as customers and workers do
as the celery zips by and plonks into my canvas tote bag

and just as we got a little comfortable
