LOL!! mousey, mind if I call you wily? ;)

Trevor - He's ok... just needs a computer break. I keep hesitating to archive the Zlatkomix Studio (as he suggested) because I don't wanna do it! But he has to take a break and we're just going to have to miss him for a while. Hopefully the break won't be too long. Looks like you're currently in the lead.... :)

I'm going to close the contest a week from today, Monday, May 30th.

Cool, glad that he's okay... I think everyone here can relate to needing a computer break now and again.... I'm almost due, but so hard though cause I'm so used to writing on the computer rather than back to the paper and pen like when I started writing.

I'm still in the lead....finally voting four times for myself seems to be paying off!!! But all kidding aside, was wondering if you have an E-bay account or anything like that? I don't have a credit card and I think you need one to set up an account. If I end up winning I still would like very much to auction off the piece and donate the proceeds to a charity. Not that I wouldn't appreciate the painting, just think that maybe it would be served better this way. There's a great subsidized arts' therapy clinic I know of that every little bit helps. Perhaps if you have any studio eight cheques, if I win we could donate the money on behalf of the whole community...I think it was a group effort, Zlat supplied the inspiration and painting and I'm sure I'm not the only one who fed off both the painting and the comments made by other people...and last and certainly not least, you supplied the space. Anyways, let me know.

I think that's a great idea, Trevor!

We don't have an Ebay account, though. I think LR has a personal account there, but the site doesn't have one.

To set up a Paypal account, all you need is a checking account, not a credit card. Maybe it's the same way at Ebay. Do you want to check it out?

To be honest, Ebay has always baffled me. I don't understand how it's so successful, but apparently it is! I mean, people are selling so much stuff on there, I don't know how they market it to purchasers.

Where's this subsidized arts therapy clinic you're talking about? Gotta link?

:)

Just a couple more thoughts about coordinating this...

If you were the lucky winner, Trevor, and you set up an Ebay account, put the image of the painting and a description up on Ebay (after Zlatko changed the bubble to have the winning words in them, I'm assuming).... then once the painting is auctioned off, you could let Zlatko know and he could ship the painting directly to the Ebay recipient (rather than to you) ... and the money would be paid directly to you by the person on Ebay who bid the highest. Then, you could write the check for a donation to whoever you want to donate to (such as this arts therapy group you mentioned) .... enclose the check in a greeting card or something and sign it, "From your friends at Studio Eight dot TV" with a link to our site.

Just an idea.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out the logistics of this and to be honest, I don't really have the time at the moment to set up an Ebay account and figure out how the whole thing works and then coordinate this effort.

If you want to do it, I'll support this in any way I can.

Maybe I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be. Please tell me your ideas about how this could work, OK?

Congratulations to Trevor!

He wrote the winning thought bubble entry!

"Is that a sub-atomic proton neurolator in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?"

Zlatko mailed me the painting and it's really very cool to see this up close! There's actually no thought bubble on the painting. It's approximately 11" x 17" and looks like a watercolor with pen & ink. (Zlatko if you see this post and I'm wrong, please correct me)

I've emailed Trevor and will send the painting his way!

This was fun!

Thank you to all who participated!

And a special thanks to Zlatko for thinking of this contest and offering his painting as a prize!

Hi Doreen,

Sorry I haven't been around much, summer is the season of obligations even for a bum like me. Hope all is going well in your corner of the world and that you an LR aren't chained to your desks and are able to enjoy some of those delicious summer rays.

When again are you doing your Cabaradio? I actually might be able to swing down for it if its the date I'm thinking.

Wanted to say thanks to Zlatko for putting up the painting for the contest, you for hosting it and the tremendous amount of votes I recieved -- its not everyday that a guy like me gets 4 out of eight votes and doubles the competition...lol...next stop, Parliment! But in all seriousness, thank you, it was a fun competition. Although I'd love to keep the painting, I think its a blast and would be a great conversation piece to say the least, I am going to try and auction it off and donate the money...and I hope you don't mind me donating it on behalf of Studio Eight....not that I think it will fetch a tremendous amount of money....(no offense Zlatko, I really do enjoy the painting), but I've always thought money won is money shared.

Anyways, fun for all, enjoyed the contest. Thanks again Doreen and Zlatko. I'll email you my address Doreen so you can send the painting off.

Trevski
