The Cybertruck (bless its heart, it tried)
The Cybertruck (bless its heart, it tried)
Where I grew up,
where I am from,
if you tried to call
anything that looked
even close to that thing
a "truck," you'd be laughed
off the reality show island.
But I guess that just means
I'm getting old.

the mystique of elon
snookered buyers into believing
he was genius
turns out he simply has a high IQ

I call it a rolling dumpster. But then, I admit, I've too often been in an all-around foul mood over the last few months.
Re: The Cybertruck (bless its heart, it tried)
elon lost me
when he stamped his little foot
and called those cave divers
pedophiles
because they rejected his
unbuilt
untested
submarine
and hurt his feelings
how dare they
who do they think they are

pedophiles

submarine

As readers of this show know,
I'm no fan of elon, but beyond that
I just hate his attempt at a truck.
It looks like a goddam cartoon.

I'm no fan of him either
but I'll admit
I never tire
of watching his rockets
ease back down
onto the launch pad

Or explode before they get into space. Look, I want to like and respect him too, but then he made it all about himself and
cutting us up with a chainsaw. So I'm sorry but fuck him.

I don't particularly want to like or respect him. I respect what some of his engineers have accomplished, but as far as I'm concerned, he's shown himself to be a loathsome human being. BTW, you've either forgotten or are too young to remember NASA's attempts to match the Soviet's 1957 PR spectacular - how they chased Sputnik 1 with one failed launch attempt after another. It's an inescapable fact of life that rockets under development often blow up.

Re: The Cybertruck (bless its heart, it tried)
We kinda got off topic here. Seems like the US got the Gemini and then the Apollo programs up and running fairly quickly. Yes, rocket science/tech is trying to do much more than those early programs, and maybe it will all be perfected (or nearly so) someday, or maybe it won't, and yes, at least this guy is out there pushing the envelope, and yes, I should try to lose some of my anger on a personal level, but ... my "poetic" review here (*cough*) wasn't about the man himself, nor his rockets; it was aimed at that ugly, overhyped, overpriced bundle of comical polygons called the Cyber-"truck." (And I couldn't resist going with a classic Southern putdown.)
Re: The Cybertruck (bless its heart, it tried)
yeah, I started in on his cartoon submarine that no serious diver would let complicate an already complicated rescue mission - but somehow my contempt for the man took over. On that, anyway - his utter lack of basic decency - we agree.

Btw, I like what some of his engineers have been able to accomplish too.
