Formatting question

Post by sasha » June 18th, 2025, 7:53 pm

Does anyone here know of a comprehensive list of the HTML tags this site recognizes? I frequently use those for font size & style, but I could also use the sub- & superscript tags if they exist. I do know they aren't true HTML - they use the [ ] characters to delimit tags, whereas true HTML uses < >, and is less concise than the syntax used here. Is there a master list that someone could point me to? Thanks in advance!

This site uses BB Code, not html. I think I added a few html codes to be accepted but I’d have to look in the admin panel to see what they were. They probably don’t work anymore. It was a long time ago when I was working on getting YouTube videos to play within the site, and also I had installed an audio player. Those codes were html but don’t work anymore because we had to reinstall the software on the server side at one point and lost all of our custom changes.

BB Code will work for bold, italic, lists, quote, and more. I will find a link to show you BB Code.

PS - I almost missed your post. In the top section of the forums there’s a forum called “Help & Feedback”. Could you please post your questions there in the future? Thanks!

PPS … I’m going to file all the announcements written by Judih under Studio 8 Announcements. Sorry the software is so peculiar. I should have filed them a long time ago.

I gave Cenacle his own forum for announcements because he has never participated in the community posting anything other than promoting his announcements… and all his announcements were pushing S8 member announcements down the page.

Anyway, apologies for the confusion about where to post

Not a problem - I got a partial answer from the FAQs. At least now I know what to ask for - a list of the BBcodes recognized by the editor. I was able to find ALT codes elsewhere that got me by the original hurdle. A list of all BBcodes might be helpful, but that itch has been scratched.

Click the link I posted. That link has all the phpbb codes. It’s from the developer’s site.
