perpetual motion redux
perpetual motion redux
last electronic words
constantine nee dino
extracted from the archives
of the site poetry in baltimore
a comment from dino
to another poet's post
" as long as academia
maintains it's stranglehold
upon the aesthetics of
what, how, and who
then expect more of the same."
we really tried to open up
a place where Anyone could read
not just the old favorites of the in-crowd
but shortly after he uttered those words above
our dear friend dino left the barbarity
of this world for the peace of another world
with no pain
we were good friends
on earth
and will continue to be good friends
in the perpetual motion of time everlasting

I wish I could've met him.
He was a good man, and...
at the same time he kicked ass.
He'd walk into somewhere full of
posers and call them out, and
it needed to be said, and then
he'd just keep going.

He was brilliant,
perhaps a genius.
Definitely a comic.
Amazingly astute.
He loved Carolyn Jones.
He had good taste like that.

you're going to miss me when i'm gone
you'll think of me
hear my voice in your head
you know me, you won't forget
my face and my gestures
how i do the al pacino
my crazy dancing
remember
you know me so well
under the half moon
i laugh the laughter of madness
i do the jerk - the mash potato
jump back jack
see you later alligator
i've got the moves of dr. york
remember
you know me, you won't forget
my face
what about my face
how can you live without my face
you're going to miss me when i'm gone
do you miss me now that i'm gone
do you love me
just tell me that you love me
even if you don't love me
i don't need the truth
fuck the truth and tell me a lie
do you still think of me
you're going to miss me when i'm gone

Re: perpetual motion redux
Yeah it’s a terrific book! I pull it off the shelf occasionally to read a couple.
And this is why I created the archive forums for those who have passed. I need to do it for Judih’s work. And Wireman. And Dan Cuddy.
But for some reason it’s so overwhelming to me. Wireman’s was mostly jam posts and moving them might not make sense. But after Judih got killed, it’s just too emotional for me …. Still. After over 2 years. I hope one day I am able to do it.
Oh, and thanks for telling me that. I didn’t remember that I met you first on Poetry in Baltimore and I didn’t know that it was Dino who invited you here. That’s awesome. I’m so glad he did!!
Re: perpetual motion redux
Yes it is. I think I'll pull that book off the shelf now

Re: perpetual motion redux
Oh good! I’m so glad you have a copy, Mark!
Btw, have you ever been to DC? I’m 1.5 miles from a metro station. We could go to the Smithsonian museums and National Gallery when you come visit. And maybe Steve will come down from Baltimore to join us.
Ohhh and we could go see the White House (if there’s anything left of it by then)

Re: perpetual motion redux
Dino, if I'd met him, would probably be respectful at first if I'd had a chance to talk to him in person, but then I'm sure he would've roasted me.
Re: perpetual motion redux
Elas... what a great book!
Re: perpetual motion redux
I've never been to DC. I thought Trump was trying to tear it down and build a hotel or something
