spring tiptoes in
spring tiptoes in
first sunlight
now reaches
my bedroom window
mounds of earth
where once stood
snowbanks
naked saplings
each spidery twig
tipped with green
ovenbirds
sounding the all-clear
from the woods
finally
coats and gloves
back to storage
