haiku macho

Post by jimboloco » June 23rd, 2005, 2:51 pm

haikus are reserved
for like sake and plumtrees,
polite samurai scribblers

from the imagination jam #2,

and a posting of haiku to not exactly counter, i mean the assertion was written so slick, like, sake and plumtrees, hey, i dig it, just wanna set this all in perspective, oh trembling fluffy haiku poetz!

Gary Snyder's Haiku

Hiking in the Totsugawa Gorge
pissing
watching a waterfall

---------------------------------------------------

the boulder in the creek never moves
the water is always falling
together!

This morning:
floating face down in the water bucket
a drowned mouse.

leaning in the doorway whistling
a chipmunk popped out
listening

a butterfly
scared up from its flower
caught by the wind and swept over the cliffs

Skirt blown against her hips, thighs, knees
hair over her ears
climbing the steep hill in high-heeled shoes

check out my haiku post about ren&'s quote that all haiku poetz are plum blossoms
and birdie poop.
Yeah I liked it a lot thanks Jim. Ren&s that is a new one on me. I was spending four or five hours a day on Studio Eight, too much fun. I been reading again, for months I have not been able to read, I mean sit down with a book and read for a couple of hours, too restless. I will probably post this one to you soon. I just don't want to spend so much time on studio eight. Have you ever seen a strange little flick called Buckeroo Bonzai, nice picture inspired this one.

Haiku Buckeroo*
Cowboy buddha troubadour
No sword, no weapons

Gary Snyder Knows:

WHY LOG TRUCK DRIVERS RISE EARLIER THAN STUDENTS OF ZEN

In the high seat, beforedawn dark,
Polished hubs gleam
And the shiny diesel stack
Warms and flutters
Up the Tyler Road grade
To the logging on Poorman creek.
Thirty miles of dust.
There is no other life.
- Gary Snyder

To paraphrase the great German philosopher and NFL linebacker Frederick Nitzke, "the artist is the manure from which his art grows"
If that is true then Bats would be our greatest poets, nothing better than bat shit crazy haiku poets.

thanks pal
