Scarcity beach

Post by hester_prynne » August 14th, 2005, 5:56 pm

On scarcity beach,
hope tides rush in,
pull back.

Knock me over,
pull me down,
undertow constant.

Between waves,
sands of my memory,
stretch naked for miles.

Broken shells,
fleeing crabs,
hungry birds.

Treasure chests,
pillaged open,
candy robbed.

I pray to drown,
each time the tides,
come back in.

Hey Hes...

I've been meaning to reply.... got busy.

You hit my wavelength with this one....
I've spent some time on a 'scarcity beach' of my own.

Thanks.

I saw it as tragic but that is just me, when we wish to drown in the waves of life then life is unbearable and we need a change. No matter how you meant it to be read it is a beautiful piece of poetry my friend. iblieve

T'was mostly a little prayer.
To drown in the waves of hope. Amen.

And it felt tragic when I was writing it.
It really did.

But the next day, it also felt like the last line could have been something Rodney Dangerfield might have said.....
heh
most of all ibeliev,
thanks so much for reading me and understanding me.
It's an honor.....
