cyber word swill, often daft -
much like daily life, the craft
of relaying thoughts takes skill
with an e-lectronic quill.
what we mean is what we say
when we learn how to convey
deft ideas with noun or verb -
interpretation can disturb.
spoken word is much the same.
voice inflection helps proclaim
our intentions - so absurd
to communicate by word.
speak in english, speak in latin,
arabic, or in manhattan
articulate your words like natives,
contemplative and creative....
doesn't matter what your tongue,
words together must be strung
to illicit understanding -
skill in verbiage is demanding.
sometimes seems like babylon.
wrong conclusions can be drawn
from what's said -- should be no blame
even if our tongue's the same.
language barriors amaze me,
though i thought not much would phase me.
to convey what we intend -
almost hopeless, I contend.
it's a wonder with our scrawl
we communicate at all.
communication

Whatever is not told,
always soon reveals,
it tears up and destroys
what was once a happy deal.
All of the sudden
you're feeling mean and bad
you wrack your aching brain,
you feel like you've been had
then the resentments
boil your blood,
what once seemed hopeful
was never any good
how could they have done this,
so carelessly led you on,
then turn around and call you,
the one unworthy one
what you thought was reality
was only words you read,
when the time comes for directness
all goodwill is dead.
Finally we learn
the most important lesson of all,
you can never give a little,
for they'll surely take it all.
inspiring poem Doreen!
(as usual)
Communication IS the key.....
But the goddamn locks are all different.

Geoff -
This poem has nothing to do with what happened between old brooklyn and me, which was really nothing at all. The only thing that happened is that he told me not to post anything on his site any more. I have no clue why. No big deal.
No, I'm pleased to say that we were never lovers.
What's the difference between a french computer and an american computer? You have all those e's with accents on them? Hmmm...
What brand is the computer? Just curious.
