Add-mer-ation

Post by Axanderdeath » August 21st, 2005, 12:08 pm

Am I alone in the quest for fame

I think not but it could be true

life is strange in the way we lie to our selves
i lie to my self
like saying I ll only have one beer and end up in a hospital
well what i am saying is spare me your ego and let me know your real soul
because aside from popular belife there is no sin in wanting to be fam--mouse
nothing wrong with crawling in to your sub conscience mind and
floating around with greats of your add-mer-ation
thus spoke G.A.P.

Geoff -

Many young people seek fame and fortune, or dream of it, anyway. You're definitely not the only one. It's a goal people have because they see those who have fame living what appears to be the easy life, wealthy, with supposedly not a care in the world. But it's not really like that.

I think it's completely absurd that a basketball or football star or film actor or these days, a "celebrity" (who may have zero talents), "earn" such tremendously outrageous salaries. People are starving in this world, for crissake! It makes no sense at all to pay some that much money while people starve and go homeless.

As a back-up to your desire for fame, you are in search of a sugarmamma? hehe.... Well, I guess she could tide you over until you achieve your fame!

Recognition is another matter. I believe those who have talents and skills and work hard to offer their artistry to the world should be recognized and paid fairly for what they give to the world. "Starving artists" is a cliche because there are too many artistic people who cannot support themselves through their talents and crafts. What a shame.

I wrote this little ditty about the topic a few years back....

i've never been a fan of fame.
fortune's not my middle name.
i never cared too much for glory.
i'd prefer to write the story
as i feel it, unaware
if i am judged since i don't care.

my skin's so thick it doesn't matter
if it's bought – i won't get fatter
by the glory or the praise
and i admit, to my amaze,
i do not shirk from critic's pen
or insults hurled and yet again

my skin's so thin, i often think
my veins will burst, my blood will sink
into the soil below a pit
i stand my ground and think of it.
it makes me want to wail and bawl!
i'm so effected by it all.

i'd like to have fame...not because i think its the good life but i'd like to have influence and people with fame have influence...but if that means sacraficing my ideas...then i don't see the need to be famous because the reason i want to be famous is to have influence of the ideas wheich i think are good in my mind

I'd rather be famous after my soul has moved outta this skin bag.
Besides......all my enjoyment and insights have been found within the tunnel, within the cloud, and unreconized within the crowd.

not me... privacy has so much more appeal. a quiet bungalow by the roaring ocean, a postage stamp sized apartment in the south of france, away from the glaring public eye, where i can walk thru an open air market or sit on a patio in my sweatpants if i choose ... but wait, do not the famous seek the same?

i guess don't want to be famous, i want what the famous want.

why would i want the entire world to sit in judgement of my private life, my decisions, my relationships, my weaknesses and talents, my taste in music, shoes or luggage ... it would be like being forced to sit in court every minute of every day... what's tempting about it?
