Souless Monsters

Post by stilltrucking » September 11th, 2005, 6:54 pm

I been thinking about reincarnation of souls. Maybe with six or seven billion people alive today the universal warehouse of souls has run out of stock. So people get born without souls. How many souls reside inside the White House?

Shake Hands With The Devil.

even if it is only a metaphor, it works for me. Just remembered I should have put soul music on the poll

thanks for taking the time to reply.

I was thinking about the book Shake Hands With The Devil, the Canadian soldier's memoir of Rwanda. Souless monsters, I wonder about Bush.

Yes, I have a soul, but it is nothing special, the soul is just the mind at a different 'frequency' which is the body at a different 'frequency' etc. etc., there is clearly something more than just the flesh...now Mr. Stilltrucking, I have a trucking question for you: What steps does one take when trying to get work in the trucking business? How much training, how long before one is on the road, how much will a first year driver make, what are the differnet work and payment schemes, how is the demand for the job, how will rising gas prices effect that demand? What else? Any thoughts? What should I know? What advice would you give someone who in a year or two will try and get into the trucking biz, one with no education beyond high school save for a few community college classes? Any adivce and assistance would be greatly appreiciated wise one of the interstate highway and truck stop
I am looking for a home for my thoughts.

yeah i definetly have an unconcious mind, hell i might even beleive in collective unconsious but i don't think its spiritual. it can all be logically explained without saying that there is something Higher then myself, which would imply that i would beleive in a higher power...which i don't.

This is the first few lines of a novel I'm looking forward to reading. (Or writing, if you don't)

thats like plato talk...i mean that there are like soul jackets? i always liked how that was explained. that theres a closet of soul jackets and when a new person is born one is givin to him. and then when one person dies it is put back on the rack. but its weird because plato was during the times of the ancient greeks and they beleived there was only one good...the public good...so how come there are multiple souls, i quess some of them he thought weren't as good as others?

Soul jackets.

Hmmm.... I like that!

Maybe you should write this novel, K&D!

That's a really cool idea.... soul jackets!

When you write it, keep in mind that it could make for a very cool film which could be quite lucrative. Write it so it can be adapted to a screenplay easily.

Soul jackets. Hanging in a closet. Dig it!

How can you run out of souls when people are dying all the time....

All the TIME!plenty of souls popped back on the shelf, grab one tuck it into a baby and away we go!!!

true, maybe some souls are retreads, maybe some are completely bald.....but souls none-the-less!...... .....or is that soles? :?

I am a soulless shoe! Soulless Shoe Jackson.
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!

but the population had drasticly increased during the idustrial revolution...what then people! what then?

i had a 9th grade teacher tell me about soul jackets...where the fuck tdid i hear that. we were talking about plato...did plato say that or was that just how he was explained to me? i don't know. what if its cold, do people get multiple souls...layering is in fasion now a days.

i beleive in collective consiousness, cause we all have this electro magnetic feild around us, it can be explained scientificly and that we can feel and interact with eachothers electromagnetic feild so why shouldn't there be collective consiousness...ever had a peak experience at a concert? that could be collective consiousness.

I got soul, you got soul, K&D got soul, birds got soul, dogs got soul, trees got soul, rocks got soul, scissors got soul, shoes got soul.

Everything animate, inanimate, visible, and invisible has soul. Spiritus. Prana. Chi. Mana. Everything is just energy. Energy and idea.

Science used to have a nice solid idea of matter, and even atoms. But they found it was little more than a rule of thumb. Now we've got "up" quarks and "down" quarks and whatnot quarks that are ineffably uncertain and have no conceivable mass and pop in and out of existence on a whim.
The atom is an encryption of information, of idea. The physical properties of the matter it makes up are the expression of the idea & energy (or spirit) that is contained within

So you can say that medicine works because of chemistry, or you can say that it works because those pills contain healing spirits. Either way it's the same thing.

Of course, that's bad science.

but imagine that:
Matter is a metaphor. Physics is a metaphor. Logic is a metaphor. Science is just as magical as astrology, kabbalah, feng shui, walking down the street. Magic is a metaphor.
In a universe of metaphor, the symbol is the thing
...and if the math works, well...

speaking of the math working:
Einstein, however begrudgingly, dismantled Newton.
But Newton's math still works.
It doesn't work in cases where you have no business using it, but neither does anything else. An umbrella will not protect you from a tidal wave, and an ocean liner is useless in the Gobi Desert. ("The same shoe will not fit on every foot. Keep your idealism practical." -- fortune cookies tacked to Buck's door)
But Newton's math still works.
So it must be true.

The historickal evidence points to this:
The universe is infinitely more mysterious than we give it credit for.

Which is a terrifying and exhilarating thought, don't you think?
