The war on terror

Post by mnaz » September 13th, 2005, 4:46 am

I watch the latest crusade.
I watch how moral absolutes
trade lives for the greater good.
I conclude there is no morality,
only fuel, energy, relativity.
In this god-speed crusade,
my compassion is a sin.
It has no clear objective.

When I think back,
it was so much better then,
fueled by limitless possibility,
before I knew what I should fear.
Where was I between thoughts?
Where did that sweet life go?

Where was I between thoughts?

Good question.
I think I am going to ask myself that all day.

if there was no morality there would be no fear. if there was no morality there would be no pain. if there was no morality there would be no poetry.

if there was no morality, i would be no better than the greedheads and oilmongers and neither would you.

the assholes merely outpower the moralists. what we need is more moralists with nucular bombs, armies and WMDs.
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.

Whose Morals you talking about firsty? Bush so much a "moral" man. He never got a blow job in the oval office.
The Genealogy of Morals, check it out. A laxative for the brain.

Just a hip shot, my first reaction to your post. Not sure I got where you were going with it?

distinguish b/t: no morals existing and no one with morals existing.

of course bush has no morals and all wars are fought primarily without morals. that doesnt mean morals dont exist. if they didnt exist, there wouldnt be people like mnaz feeling pain about it.

yo.
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.

The moral absolutists decry moral relativity, yet fail to see the moral relativity of their absolute policy-- morality as a 'macro-balance sheet', mandated from above-- a season of sown lies and shock and awe, traded for a future harvest of heavenly glory--100,000 Iraqis wasted because they got in the way of a megaton mandate.

And my pain only intensifies in the electronic echo chamber of data, where relativity reaches pandemic proportions and it's revealed that those 100,000 Iraqis were traded for 200,000 mass graves otherwise, and I am overwhelmed by the cruel indeterminacy of all which should be so clear...

It is about energy... mine, I trust.... but does 'trust' have anything to do with energy? It's all just different forms of divine energy, annihilating each other in the field of time... not even my Joseph Campbell studies can get me through.

I looked at this world with innocent optimism as a child. I was much more plugged into 'being'... a state I have been edging closer to.

and the only path for moralists is to live vicariously thru their innocent children, and then to use guilt to force or just hope those children are hetero enough to have a few more to keep the cycle moving, thus ever further fucking with moralism in the first place.

and since those children are needed for more wars, the circle of life continues.

i gotta get me a safari hat, or at least a mirage.
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.

I get into a vonnegut state of mind thinking about all that meat. my brother in law a perfect arguement for reincarnation. the guy is so much pain. He liked bush because he had "morals" Clinton did not, all through the campaign of 2000 he never talked much about gore, it was Bush vs Clinton, morals verses a dirty son of a bitch who got blow jobs in the white house. Most people (that hump in the middle of the bell curve) when they think of morals it is SEX they think of. I know that is not what you all are talking about. Mnaz I wish I could be a Hindu, it puts it in perspective.

I wish I was a Hindu. A moral Hindu, an untouchable.
Nietzsche wrote the history of the future. If you ask me. All I know is that the poem touched me.
before I knew what I should fear.
I have a friend who is fearless, when I say to him "the begining of knowledge is the fear of the lord" he just shakes his head and disagrees.

What should you fear mnaz/
I mean I am thinking about what I fear, between my thoughts, is that where the fear lurks, in the stillness?

everybody should get a blow job in the oval office.

not everybody should blame God on their wars of power - not president bush the asshole and not osama bin laden the asshole.

i'm a moral relativist. getting a blow job and shooting your wad all over some fat chick's dress is infinitely better than blowing up children.

if i run for president, that will be my platform - i will guarantee that any citizen can have 15 minutes in my oval office for a blowjob and that i will never send children off to die in some sand trap overlooking an oil field. the only time to fight is when someone's banging on the door of your house with a shotgun or your daughter.

sex is rampant. look at how many untouchables there are. everybody has sex and more grandparents than we'll ever admit have engaged in extramarital blowjobs, and not in classy joints like oval offices, either.

even if sex and killing were the same, bush's murders pile up much more quickly than even a playa like clinton.
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.

Firsty it is about time we get a poet in there. You got my vote.

Mnaz I feel like a mad dog, all I can say to your post is that I found something in it that I could use. The silence between my thoughts, I feel like your words have given me a diamond that flashes in the dark, where the light comes from I don't know. From your thoughts I suppose. I don't have much fear left for the state of the world. I have felt the pain since childhood. I found it in the late forties from the old black and white newsreels from world war one. There are tears in my eyes from watching the slaughter. Feel such anger in my heart for those English and French terrorists that carved up the world to suit their purposes. There was no Iraq before 1919. And Woodrow Wilson that god dam fool. Filled with loathing for them. I loved your poem but I am sorry for the anguish that caused you to write it.
Maybe there is no relief, but your poem helped me. That must be worth something I hope.

Bush when I see him something goes wrong with my nose. I smell death.

ST...

I'm glad you found some inspiration, or help, in my words.

They are a lament of frustration. Our gift here on earth is ever more overwrought and over-thought. We elevate symbols over greater truths. We are drowning in our own useless shitstorm of data and false pride, so its 'better safe than sorry'.... send in the troops. State-sponsored mass-murder as just another tax, due each fiscal year.

It's mostly about the confusion....how we are lost in the avalanche of data-for-hire.... how we do ourselves in.... and how I yearn for the simpler, more awestruck days of childhood. But of course, the same confusion existed then.... my innocence was a shield, if only briefly.

firsty: finally, a platform for the people.... makes sense to me.
