I have three long hairs coming out of my neck, should I cut them, pluck them, or leave them be? Why?
I am looking for a home for my thoughts.

i'm afraid i require more information before i dare submit an opinion.

a)how long is 'long'? (shoulder length, longer?)
b) are they all the same colour?
c) are they straight or curly?
d) would it provide daily interest to see if they continue to grow?

several more questions pop to mind, but still, i'll patiently await your answers to the above.

cordially yours,
an interested participant

Thanks for your interest; I really do have these three hairs and am I wondering what to do with them so I thought that I would let the market decide. The reason for doubt is that I have heard that if you cut hair or warts, the three more pop up elsewhere; is that true? The hairs are about each an inch long, all black with a bit of curl to them. They don't really grow at all, but it has only been recenty that I have noticed them. I will observe them closely to see what develops.
Thanks

an interesting predicament.

Surely in place of 3 hairs, 9 or more would seem a trite overwhelming.

Then again, with multiples of 3, you could easily braid them and perhaps begin a new fashion trend.

Another question: are they popping out from a mole or birthmark, cause this, too, will change the image that's now forming in my mind.

Join a leper colony man!!!! 'cause that's oogy!!!

and now I can't quit staring at them.....don't you hate when that happens!!!!!

Pluck the little mutherpluckers.....they'll grow back and once again you can renew the friendship and repeat the dilemma and tradition for time immemorial. Now there's a happy prospect.

ps: this little thread has made me laugh. Please do answer Judih's questions as I too am intrigued.... who'da thunk it!!!

Oh...and do take Judih's advice once she's formulated a course of action for you, as clearly she is far more stable than I! :D

one word for you, dearest mousey

hyperfocus

(if someone from outside takes a fast glance, they will assume it's stability, and only you, yourself, will hold the secret - utter insanity stretched to its limitless maximum)

I will pluck them then, that is what the survey has decided...no mole, no birthmark, just on the throat, a patch of chest hair that pioneered its way too far north I reckon, I'll pluck them and report back

well, that was an easy decision.

But you know where to turn if something else of a dubious nature sprouts elsewhere.

WAIT, Lovey!

Don't pluck those puppies, shave them.

I am almost hairless on my body but I have these four hairs coming out around my right nipple and three on the left. I wouldn't dare shave or pluck these because they allow me to claim that I have hair on my chest and the girls really go for that.

Dear lovingpenfull:

It's obvious to me that the contributing members here lack the medical expertise to take your poll ( and your condition) seriously.

Allow me to step forward, banish the levity that has accrued to your poll, and offer some sound, scientific advice.

You are obviously suffering a pre-lycanthropic anxiety attack. Symptoms may include the following:

( paste)

The Lycanthropic Matrix:

1. Delusions of werewolf transformation under extreme stress.

2. Preoccupation with religious phenomenology, including feeling victimized by the evil eye.

3. Reference to obsessive need to frequent graveyards and woods.

4. Primitive expression of aggressive and sexual urges in the form of bestiality.

5. Physiological concomitants of acute anxiety.

( from "A Case of Lycanthropy" by Harvey Rosenstock, M.D.)

It's probably enough, for now, to buy a turtleneck sweater and make an appointment with the appropriate health-care professional.

And zlat, yes, a turtleneck....sigh....the obvious answer was there all the time.....kudos my good man....kudos! Perhaps now my eyes can get some rest...... staring is such a tiring, tedious process.

This post reminded me of a story-song we used to sing when we were kids..... Please consider the moral of this story song prior to making a final decision.
_____________

Little bunny foo-foo, (hold up two fingers)
hopping through the forest (bounce your hand up and down)
Scooping up the field mice, (make a scooping motion with hand)
and bopping them on the head. (slap top of fist with palm)

(Spoken)
Then down came the Good Fairy, and she said:
- Little Bunny Foo-Foo, (wag forefinger - "no-no")
- I don't wanna see you (wag forefinger - "no-no")
- Scooping up the field mice, (scooping motion with hand)
- and bopping them on the head. (slap top of fist with palm)
(spoken)
I'll give you 3 chances,
and if you don't behave,
I'll turn you into a Goon!

Little bunny foo-foo,
hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice,
and bopping them on the head.

and if you don't behave,
I'll turn you into a Goon!

POOF! You're a goon!

(Spoken)
And the moral of the story is:
Hare today, goon tomorrow!
