This is a very interesting concept.

Is anyone familiar with this?

Never actually heard it explained like this before, but it sounds to me like the esoteric christian is just an open minded searcher and the exoteric is the unthinking swallower of dogma.

Makes sense.

Doing this subject at uni (it's my final semester!) called Getting it together. It's a cool subject, teaches a lot of personal development kind of stuff and a lot of proactive and timesaving techniques. Funny thing about it though is that she taught us about the enneagram (among other things), which derives from sufi mysticism. Funny, the things we learn in uni these days. The four ego reactions, 9 personality traits of the enneagram -- What's next I wonder, the 12 signs of the zodiac or the 21 trumps of the tarot?

last semester, i took a class...Nature and Consiousness.

there was part of the class where we learned about that dude who thought water had qualities, like they taped words on the water and looked at the water crystal and it would look different. or they would say hatefull words and the water crystal would be all fucked up...now you have to keep in mind this guy was not a scientist so god knows how he was conducting the experiments.

wasn't a big fan of Nature and Consiousness.
Blah!
