I woke-up
years ago
just to find
a world
that's dreaming,
no one
else is trying
and I think
my God
is dead.

All those
days of
reaching-out
left me
with a
hollow heart
and the
tears, they
burned a hole
inside
my head.

My tearducts
are so dry
still I'll find
a way
to cry
because
every time
I laugh
the demons
rage.

They paint
my face
with shame
then they
dress me up
in pain
to parade
me as
a mime
on center stage.

Some call it
depression
but I
call it
being human;
and a corpse
is but
a corpse
by any
name.

For even
Christ
himself
had the
angels
to inspire
and to
strengthen him
when He
was going
insane.

The proof
is in the
pudding
and the
pudding is
corrosive;
swimming
with the
maggots
full of bile.

I woke-up
years ago
just to find
a world that's
sleeping
as I gouge
my opened
eyes
another mile.
