Galloway/Hitchens Debate

for the historic/histrionic debate between Member of Parliament Galloway and journalist Christopher Hitchens in New York City earlier in the month of September, see www.democracynow.org.

They were also together on the Bill Maher show of last Monday. It is on HBO. Maher was merciless, and Galloway was strident and acute.
Very refreshing, also that for heavens sake, the wallowing vodkaholic, Hitchens revealing his minute culdesac of a perspective when he utters something like, "Patriotism" is a noble virtue.

seeing them appear again on Maher was sort of disquieting -- as if it is all a contrived controversy as a publicity stunt. but they usually have such real vivid disputes in american political scenes.
