Chief Justice Doom

Is it just me in dire distress regarding the ensuing confirmation of Roberts as chief justice? I would think after the disaster with FEMA's incompetently appointed incompetent, that we the people would suspend any further Bushko nominees period.
Looking at Bush and Brown's track record, buddies that they are, they are totally illustrative of what I call "the failure brothers".
The kind of feeling I have about the folly we are about to create via Roberts as Chief Justice is really really strong. The agenda here is certainly not good for women. It's really bad, in fact it's scares me very much.
Add to that the fact that virtually nothing is being done to oppose it, and that I personally cannot do anything but watch, well it's no picnic.
Tell me one good thing about the about to be confirmed chief justice.

Well hester he does sound a lot like Clarence Thomas. His answers to the senators questions seem to sound the same. But I suppose that is not such good of news for women.

Yeah it sounds like a step backwards. I wonder if Bush will appoint a woman next tme to make ammends. Maybe Tammy Faye Baker. Ah shit I can't laugh. It is grim. Dam grim.

I can not tell you how much I dread abortions. But if I was a woman I would want that option. I would only hope I did not have to go there. I know of one woman who had not much choice, because of me. She has dealt with it better then I have. Got dam christian morality, sexual politics, a woman's place, bare foot and pregnant. I wonder about the rights of the undead. Those people so concerned about the unborn, don't seem to give shit about the born. Oh god I am ranting. I been doing that a lot lately. I feel like I got rabies on something.

Roberts seems to be mister wonderful, according to the talking heads I have seen on TV. Of course those talking heads were all men. The talking women heads did not think he was so

I don't have a Catholic education, by the way, except incidentally from reading piles of books by Catholic writers, like Merton, Sheen,Bodo, Nouwen, Greene, Brown, etc., etc..

I converted when I was still troubled about the cathechism. One can't answer too many questions ( or ask them) and remain anything like devout, of course.

My wife just finished "Our Fathers" by David France. It's the best book on the Catholic priest sex scandal. France himself is gay, I believe, and writes intelligently and with great insight into the bizarre and immoral conduct of the administrators and episcopacy of the Church as the story unfolded.

Thanks for the reply, I had it in my head that you went to Catholic school when you were a kid. Sorry about the confusion.

This new pope I can't remember what the name of his official office was before he was elected but it used to be called The Grand Inquisitor before the church changed it to something less frightening.

I used to listening to a lot of wacko protestant preachers, they would rant and rave about papists plots. It seems that these days they have made their peace with the catholics, joined in common cause against the enemy, which is us.
