String of Thoughts

Post by Who Am I? » October 15th, 2005, 4:35 pm

String of Thoughts

I am a field of dreams Narrator,
director of an unoccupied
dress rehearsal of life
after life
before death do us part
of a folded linen tablecloth
not fit for table manners
yet baptized with an array of stains
only purity of life could deliver ala carte.
Qualifications honored
on first come first serve basis
are under scrutiny as ships sail in
and out of harbor awaiting dreams
scattered amongst seaweed role models.
To be or not be traded
as a commodity
in this ever growing stage
preformed on and choreographed
in synchronicity of desired philosophies
rung out and left to dry naturally
as one voice permeates another
in a string of conversation
only few will remember,
and even less will live by.

Thanks Bunches, you actually inspired this piece of writing, I read your post in Feelings over at the other place we used to frequent, and somehow this came from that as I tried to come up with a reply there. Believe it or not I posted this in their open forum and I still stand at 0 after 2 days. I love it, just proves what kind of place it really is, sad in a way, but I guess popularity contests happen many places, and that is what that place has become, or maybe always has been. Anyway thanks for inspiring this piece, and I am glad I had a place I could share it with you :)

G -

The internet is such a curious place, isn't it? ;) You must be talking about this piece? http://studioeight.tv/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=4626 ... Glad I was an inspiration! Just like in real life, no matter where you go, people get attached to other people and form little groups of people within bigger groups of people (or something like that) and only reply to each other. I watch it a lot. Remember high school? Life is still just like that. There are the football players & cheerleaders. There are the hippies. There are the greasers. And there are the loners. (No wait! When you went to HS, you probably didn't have hippies and greasers.... heh..... that was before your time. ;)) Anyway, you know what I mean. It's like people make groups within groups and stick with the groups. I'm more of a loner, myself, but I like to be part of ALL the groups, whether they want me in their group or not. Ha!

Anyway, this is all your fault, you know. It was you who contacted me by email in 1998 and started sending me links about poetry on the internet and when you sent me the link to the Scroll, I got hooked! I was flabbergasted! Instantaneously, people replied to each other's poetry! People from all over the world. It was amazing to me! Then I went on to pip then to Litkicks, then to a myriad of other spots and then one day decided to set up this place. So, it's your fault. I blame you. ;) (And I thank you, too!)

Your poem sure deserves replies and I hope to see more people here and over there, too, reading it and replying to it. It's a good one!

Hope to see you posting more here!

Alicia and Jason say hi, too, by the way.
