african drums, dam pissed me off when they went to dead air. I was thinking censorship. dam paranoia into my brain it creeps starts when I am always afraid, and that is what my government wants me to be, be afraid, be very afraid, but I got on clean underwear an nice tie and polished cowboy boots, they are very shinny and clean because all the bullshit is on the inside. Trust me, I am just a good old boy, and moral, nobody ever gave me a blow job in the oval office. So trust me, because I never lie, I am born again, and holier than thou.

no music, dead air, going to search my radio for some wine spilling music. but I don't know how I could do any better than those african drums.

I finally found the woman who was singing young gifted and black

The last time out, I was writing about how every concert is now packaged as a tribute. The best tribute I've heard recently came in the form of a new song Rene Marie wrote in honor of Nina Simone, another singer who died last year, which Marie performed at the Kennedy Center Jazz Club.

Marie told a story about being a teenager and having issues with her mom at the time. Then her mom gave her a Nina Simone album and walked out of the room without a word. Simone's deeply felt songs of protest about racial inequality instantly struck a nerve with Marie, as did her songs about her sexuality, and as did a song called "To Be Young, Gifted and Black," which, Marie sang, instantly became her theme song for the next three years.

there is no situation that a cop can not make worse,
probably true
Watching a show about the police riot in Chicago in 1968. Estimated five thousand people in the streets, and half of those were government agents.

MC5 the only band that showed up
No Grateful Dead
No Jefferson Airplane

Music can change the world
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late.

sick as a dog
out of control
see myself in everything wrong
meeting my maker the mad sugar molecule
one thing that does not worry me
no flames beneath my feet
no hell to fear
I have met the enemy and he is me.
my woes all self inflicted
born free
the world was my oyster
now I got to get back to the garden

another weekend lost
in the stars
studio matching drones
to drum rhythms
warding off back spasms
not chasin all mighty
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$'s
filled with filigree
rain pelting from the south
then pummeling from the north
pups playing with
controlled fury in the park
a yen for ice cream
with a side of fries
winning the monopoly game
foreign movies do go
better with coke
and laughter is the best medicine
words by Basho soothing this insane beast............

 ...enduring laughter
we're still here submitting
the trail is ever longer
yet no less fainter
words on a screen
words that now here
words etched in minds
words sent into cyber space
words that are carried by bliss.........
