heat

Post by creativesoul » November 7th, 2005, 3:09 am

sometimes it is as if i am boiling
so much heat crawling thru my system
having to write and read in italian on nights like these
when in so many ways the things that i love are the art of any culture
i recently heard a woman speak at a chruch in Portland
she had gone to Rwanda after the genoside of many many people
they built a monument to the people that had been killed
and painted the houses with the children in beautiful colors
"mosaics are beautiful because they make something whole out of something broken"
and i got it that we, as a generation of healers
are supposed to rebuild the peace, the communication between the races, and diversity of people
that is our job
i saw the arts as being a very important piece of peace
it will not help us to be sad and gloomy about these issues and conditions
we need to band together and create something beautiful
that will change the people that see it, feel it, and read it
it is our job as artists to give hope
perhaps i am too "john lennon' in my imagining a better world
after all, he was shot in his own place
but why should i give in to the fear, the dispair, the depression?
we, have been given a gift
i was in tears listening to terry willams
how do we band togther?
so much more powerful in a group
the prayers for peace, the art on an ecclectic level
the dances, the music, the ceremony
healing mankind will take many years
but it is ok to do what you can today
as each ray of sunlight touches down upon your hands
i pray you are inspired and blessed with golden ideas of harmony and love

Yes! A great passage here about the woman who went to Rwanda. I love hearing about that sort of thing. The world will never be "healed", but we can spread healing. It starts inside, to be sure.

Enjoyed the read, creative....

Beautiful world. There is no cure for the disease called man. But he can be healed.

Liked this all so much, just to add my two bits.

Walk in beauty.

there is coffee
papeet
the love affair I had with all things native
got so real and rough and dusty
the stories rolled off my best friends tongue way faster than i could write it down
there is a reason for that-------but all that marching people one hundred miles-
and what a american history of murder and stolen ideals
veterans hold on
i love america= but there are a few things that need to be said about white people with wigs and thomas jefferson and ..
ok
i will let you go figure on the articles of confederation
or queen liliokalani being annexed- [ held hostage]
untiol she agreed to sign over hawaii
like she had a choice
it was said when queen emma died
the ocean turned red.

the heat beat down on all of us
our hearts beating
like a drum
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
