song for doreen

Post by Lightning Rod » October 24th, 2005, 1:26 am

Here is a rough draft of a tune I am writing for doreen. It's called lady lady.

http://www.studioeight.tv/musicpost/ladylady.mp3

verse starts on the and of the one

Lady Lady
dropped out of the sky on me
Lady Lady
once upon upon a time or three
Lady Lady
what it is you do to me

(Chorus)

Don't you know, that's the goin' rate
It's a matter of give and take

(then it goes to the walk up from the C to the G and I don't have any lyrics yet, maybe there is no need for them there)

anyway, I'm stumped with this piece. Structure is there and melody, but the lyrics elude me.

anybody got suggestions?

hehehe... lol... ok well, thank you sooooo much, sweet man...
(Is that "LaydaLady?" heh ... love the title! :) )

First you tell me you're writing me a love song.

Then you tell me a year or two later that you're stuck on the lyrics and ask me to write them for you and since I say no and let you know that I cannot possibly write my own love song no matter how much i adore myself, you come out to the public to ask them to write the lyrics for you....

Well, sweetheart, I know everybody here loves me but I don't think they think of me *that* way... 8)

but I may be wrong. ;) ;)

But basically, it doesn't need any more lyrics. It's just beautiful just exactly the way it is.... Thank you for the lovely song.

I used to study metaphysics with this guy--and he told me about spiritual breakthroughs which he said were generally termed "peak experiences."

He added that "peak experiences" could be identified by an apparent inability to describe the experience in language, as life altering spiritual events tend to defy our limited language of symbols. (He went on to explain Jung, archetypes, Joseph Campbell, major arcana, Nostradamus, etc.)

Perhaps that's what happened here, m'friend. :)

Doreen is/was continues to be a "peak experience."

So I suspect doreen may be right in that the music is the proper adjective.

And btw? not that it is important, but I tried to make the guy who told me that into one of MY "peak experiences" too.

But for the record--screwing your guru is almost always a bad idea.

(What, no "angel" smilie?")

I exit waving at you both. Sorry I'm late. I'm gonna go take a look around now.

You two are lovely. kiss-kiss!
