Marat-Sade History Repeats Itself

Post by Lightning Rod » December 3rd, 2005, 1:29 am

Here is the lrod and dp version of some of the music from the amazing play Marat/Sade

It is an historical plot set during the time of the French Revolution

it is strangely applicable today.

Listen to it here
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

My only contribution was the music and vocals on the last part

Cordet's Song

The rest LR did all by himself. :)

revolutionary virtuosity....brings to mind a couple of other reflections of revolution...here in Toronto a new stage production of Hair is all the rage...I don't get the relevancy of it in todays cultural context....Also Roger Waters (x of Pink Floyd) has just release Ca Ira an opera based on the French revolution....perhaps we are due for an opera based on the computer revolution.............Nice job you two....LR your flute playing is always so refreshing....so few musicians dare to go beyond any kind of instrument at all let alone the flute....I remember in the seventies a lot of musicians experimented with many classical based instruments...but it all seems to have fallen to the wayside...thanks for the treat...
