listnin to "black cross"
dylan from lord buckley and joseph s newman:
This is the story o' Hezekiah Jones.
Hezekiah Jones lived in a place in Arkansas.
An' he never had too much, 'cept he had some land.
An' he had a couple hogs, and things like that.
'never had much money, but 'e,
Spent what he didn't make as fast as he made it.
So it never really mattered,
That he had much money.
But, in the cupboard there...
He kept in the cupboard...
Kept in the cupboard books.
He called, uh, the books his "Rainy Season".
White folks around th' county there talked about Hezekiah... They... said
"Uh, well-l-l-l... well ol' Hezekiah, he's... he's harmless enough.
but the way I see it he, uh, better put down them goddam books,
Readin' ain't no good fer an ignorant nigger."
One day the, uh, white man's preacher
Came 'round... knockin' on doors.
Knockin' on all the doors in the county.
'e knocked on Hezekiah's door.
'e sez "Hezekiah, you b'lieve in the Lord?"
Hezekiah sez "Well-l-l, I don't know,
I never really seen the Lord...
I can't say as I do".
'e sez "Hezekiah, you b'lieve in the church?"
Hezekiah sez "Well the church is divided ain't they?, a'they..
They can't make up their minds, I, wa' I'm just like them.
I can't make up mine neither".
'e sez "Hezekiah, D'ya b'lieve that if a man is good,
Heaven is his last reward?".
Hezekiah sez "I'm good.
Good as my neighbor".
"You don't b'lieve in nothin'!," said the white man's preacher.
"You don't b'lieve in nothin'!" "Oh yes I do!" sez.. Hezikiah,
"I believe... that a man, should be, indebted to his neighbor.
Not for the reward of a Heaven, or of a fear o' hell fire".
"But you don't understand!"
said the white man's preacher.
"There's a lot of good ways
For a man to be wicked..."
An' they hung Hezikiah... as high as a pidgeon.
White folks around there said
"Well-l-l... He had it comin'...
'Cause the son-of-a-bitch never had no religion!"
seems that kind of thing aint to far off from the sentiment today. across town here, pat robertson wants God to rain down hellfire upon the villagers for challenging the idea that religious philosophy should be taught as physical science. racism is strong here, too. so it's not like the town of dover, pa deserves any undo praise.
i'm depressed today because of all the backwards steps we're taking. you try to tell me that if the civil rights movement hadnt succeeded, that gwb would support integration. we're reliving censorship, secretive govt bullying, there is just as much religious fanaticism in this country as there is in the middle east.
are we stupid? we keep reliving these pasts, so obvious and so close. history repeats itself, yeah, but come on.
jefferson called for a revolution every 10 years. it's time. cant handle 3 more years of this. someone needs to coup that motherfucker.
anyway, strong song by dylan, cut from a live recording in 1961 gaslight club. i need to get back to listnin to country music.
i had a job i had a girl
i had somethin goin mister in this world
i got laid off down at the lumber yard
our love went bad, times got hard
now i work down at the carwash
where all it ever does is rain
dont you feel like a rider on a downbound train
she just said "joe i gotta go"
we had it once we aint got it anymore
she packed her bags, left me behind
she bought a ticket on the central line
nites as i sleep i hear that whistle whinin
feel her kiss in the misty rain
and i feel like a rider on a downbound train
thats better. nothin like country.

Just say Hi-Jackjefferson called for a revolution every 10 years. it's time. cant handle 3 more years of this. someone needs to coup that motherfucker.
but these culture war posts can't be hijacked. They are about Kulture for crying out lound.
Mayb the people I feel the saddest for right now are those "Log Cabin Republicans" remember those guys from the big tent of compassionate conservatism of 2000 convention? Good young american men and women who bought the lies about gender equality? They were part of his base in 2000

sorry it is very bitter laughter on my part. Those young men and women are better people, better morals, ethics, I don't know how tosay it, there biggest sin was being so niave and young.
Well I been hearing this little diddy running through my brain of late. Cause if you trash the constituition send money guns and lawyers, cause the shit is hit the fan. WZ,jefferson called for a revolution every 10 years. it's time. cant handle 3 more years of this. someone needs to coup that motherfucker.
Power full lyrics byHezekiah Jones
this from the kesey bus movie was taking from a black spiritual that was based on the those "wheels" in the OT, book of Zackadiah or somethng like it
you can't go back and you can't stand still
if the thunder don't get you the lightning will
, i was using jackadiah as a user/email name one time, inspired by firecrackeradiah.
Don't ask me why but I read this book called Judaism 101. Well actually I have only read a couple of chapters about The Jews And Jesus.
I keep hoping I can find a ku in here somewhere
"and jesus said to the fig tree, "..."
and the fig tree said to him, "Jesus go sh*t in your hat"
Hezekiah sez "I'm good.
Good as my neighbor".
politicians are all politicians. the party line was community in 2000. now it's this, now it's that. theyre all in the same line, different labels, fuck em all. even compassionate politicians only call themselves that for selfish reasons. the american people are being tortured by ourselves. we have no one to blame but ourselves, us stupid fucks for reelecting the madness. blue states should secede. i should secede. i should reinstall america in my backyard. i love america, but i dont live there anymore. i live in some frozen fuckup wasteland of paranoia and hatred. my neighbors are racists or misogynists or fervent christians blasting incorrect bible rhetoric like it means something to their mortgage. how can even bush supporters believe that the man isnt some bar bum with less than average intelligence and a chip on his shoulder the size of a dry oil pump? dipshit couldnt manage a baseball team but hoo-rah can he fly a jet! the nascar fans are taking over. our founding fathers read john locke. our president cant read garfield without having it explained to him. doesnt anyone see this? this is not what they intended. we're fucked, so fucked. the new democracy will come from some enlightened place, just like it always has. america is not enlightened. america is a stewing mystery, silence and meanness and secrecy. walmart, oil barons, yellow journalism, SHIT we're going backwards but as long as our car still runs, right?
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.

Yeah life is a bitch and then you die
So the one with the most toys wins.
please don't take these words to heart
it just two dimensional scribbling
DId you say something aboutlistening to country music
it don't mean nothin
drive onJC
so have how did it go at the Bowery
No wait that has happened yet
Don't forget to kick your tires.
Happy Motoring

no i know. sometimes i feel like not giving a shit. i'm not collecting toys. i am facinated by them more than i use them. i still havent plugged in my stereo speakers yet and been in new house 2 months now. eh. i like to sit and scratch and scribble in my notebook or watch football or hockey and take out the trash. play with the boyz, play with the doggies, talk with my girl, wonder about things. i dont have any guns or i'd kill myself so i cant start a revolution. sometimes i just get so damn depressed so i set my sights on monday and i got myself undressed. i didnt even write that.
i wrote a poem yesterday in my head. what i should be doing is writing it down on paper so's i dont forget it. still have some editing to do tho i think.

The last bar open, in the loneliness of the great american night, where a silent wind blows in off the bay and up the cobble stone street following the groves of the rail road tracks to the Ship Wreck Saloon in Revere Beach MA. Silent wind sighs and carries the music to me. Just trying to listen to those tracks that clay and doreen just laid down on Music board. Keep getting sidetracked here. Firsty I am truly sorry Levi Asher keyed your car. But I know you don't take this scribbling of mine personal

ha ha. i have pretty thick skin. if you punch me in the nose, i might take it personally, but even then, all i'll do is punch you back.
i like free exchange of ideas, cant get mad at ideas.
